Duties

Help

As a Space Management Specialist, at the full performance level, you will perform the following duties:

  • Implementing space planning activities, and analyses, overseeing, coordinating, and reviewing the adequacy of space requests, special requirements, alterations,improvements, and adjustments necessitated by changes in staffing levels, installation of equipment, technology upgrades, and mission requirements;
  • Providing advice and technical support maintaining a comprehensive Real Property Management System for active facilities projects;
  • Developing schematic drawings and conducting technical drawing reviews;
  • Collaborating with GSA, engineers, and architects in establishing design criteria standards, layouts and specifications for various offices, centers, units and unique space areas;
  • Researching regulations regarding critical problem areas; and
  • Reviewing and making recommendations in conjunction with pending construction projects to OAFM Management; assisting in the development and decision- making of facility master plans, for specific facilities, and with other government agencies.

You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one of the following:

Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:

  • Assisting in the implementation and creation of space planning activities, and
    analyses, coordinating and reviewing the adequacy of space requests, alterations, improvements, and adjustments.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive Real Property Management System for active facilities
    projects and the gathering, refining, cost estimating, and scheduling of facilities projects.
  • Developing schematic drawings to create a fluid and functional space that meets all code compliances.
  • Collaborating and coordinating program requests with GSA, engineers, architects,
    contractors, and construction managers in establishing design criteria, standards, layouts and specifications for various offices, centers, units and unique space areas.
  • Utilizing procurement processes and procedures required to obtain GSA controlled space, government owned space or direct lease space in privately owned buildings.

Salary: The salary range indicated in this announcement reflects the lowest and highest potential salaries for this position.
